Data analytics services Hong Kong: from Qlik implementation to data warehousing and AI

Data analytics services Hong Kong buyers actually need go well beyond installing software and handing over the keys. ATPEP handles the client relationship and delivery here in Hong Kong, while our affiliated company in Shenzhen brings a data analytics engineering team with 19 years behind it — one team across the whole chain, from Qlik implementation through data warehousing to AI application development.

What data analytics consulting actually involves

Data analytics services Hong Kong organisations buy cover the role that translates a business problem into a data solution and stays with it all the way to a working system in users’ hands — tool selection, data pipelines, model design, dashboard delivery and ongoing operations.

The difference from pure software resale is concrete: a reseller’s job ends when the licence is delivered, while a consultant is accountable for whether anyone actually uses the thing. Most failed analytics projects fail in that middle stretch, not in the software.

We are set up across two cities. ATPEP INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED in Hong Kong owns the client relationship, solution design and on-site delivery. Our affiliated company, Shenzhen Zhuoyue Fangda Technology Co., Ltd., has focused on data analytics since 2007 and brings 19 years of engineering experience, supplying the development and technical support bench. The practical benefit of that structure: the people you talk to are next door, and behind them is a team that has worked together for years.

Data analytics services Hong Kong: our four service lines

Each line can be engaged on its own or combined into a full project. Every card states when you should be calling us, so you can find your own situation quickly.
📊

Qlik implementation and migration

As a Qlik Elite Channel Partner we handle licensing, environment deployment, data source connections, dashboard design, version upgrades and migration, plus day-to-day operational support.

Call us if: you are evaluating Qlik, dashboards were built but nobody opens them, a QlikView upgrade keeps getting deferred, or your original consultants are no longer reachable.

iModel data science platform

iModel is developed in-house by our affiliated company on the open source KNIME core. It handles data preparation, statistical analysis and machine learning through visual workflows with no coding, and can carry an analytics engagement or be deployed on its own.

Call us if: analysis is repeated by hand in Excel every month, you need the analysis process captured as something reproducible, or your group has mainland entities needing a locally compliant deployment.

Data warehousing and platform build

From source inventory and model design through ETL pipelines to governance standards. The aim is that analysts stop exporting to Excel by hand, and data refreshes on schedule against a single agreed definition.

Call us if: data sits across three or more systems, monthly reporting takes days of manual assembly, or the same metric comes out differently in different departments.

AI application development

From use case assessment and data preparation through to build. Covers predictive models, document question answering and knowledge retrieval, process automation, and embedding AI into the systems you already run rather than standing something up beside them.

Call us if: you want to use AI but cannot pick a starting use case, general-purpose tools cannot reach your internal data, or results have to be traceable rather than a black box.

Data analytics services Hong Kong: how a project actually runs

We do not do the kind of project where a large contract is signed and the first delivery arrives six months later. The standard approach is to prove one small scope works, then expand.
1
Diagnosis
We start with the problem you want solved, not the product. We look at existing systems, the state of the data and your team’s capacity, then judge whether the work is worth doing
▼
2
Proposal and quote
Scope, deliverables, timeline and cost. What is in, what is out, and what is deferred to phase two — written down rather than left to interpretation
▼
3
Pilot
We build one use case with the strongest data behind it, usually four to eight weeks. If it does not produce value we stop rather than push on
▼
4
Rollout
Once the pilot proves out, the pattern is replicated across departments or use cases while the data pipelines and permission model are completed
▼
5
Handover and operations
We train your team to make changes themselves and move into background support. The goal is that you stop needing us

Figure 1 — The five project phases, from diagnosis to handover

Stage three is the watershed. If the pilot produces nothing, none of what follows is worth discussing — and we would rather say that in the first meeting than six months in, when it is awkward for everyone. For migration work specifically, see upgrades and migration.

Why work with us
There is no shortage of BI and data firms in Hong Kong. These three points are where we differ from most of them, and they are worth comparing directly.
🏭 We build a product, not just resell one
The iModel data science platform is developed in-house, which means our team understands data analysis itself rather than one vendor’s manual. When a tool is the wrong fit, we can tell you why.
🕐 Hong Kong front, Shenzhen delivery
Communication happens in Hong Kong hours, in English, Cantonese or Chinese; development and technical support come from a Shenzhen team that has worked together for years. The cost structure differs from a purely local team, and you will see that in the quote.
🌏 One team for cross-border groups
If your group has entities in both Hong Kong and the mainland, one team can plan both analytics platforms — rather than each side building its own and finding the definitions do not line up.

Frequently asked questions

On fees, team composition, delivery and confidentiality, these are the five questions clients ask most often.
Mostly on a project basis, fixed price against a defined scope and deliverables; ongoing support can run as an annual service agreement. The first consultation and initial diagnosis are free — we will give a view on whether the work is worth doing and roughly what budget bracket it sits in, and you decide from there. You will not get halfway through a conversation and discover the budget is off by an order of magnitude.
A fair question, so here is the plain answer. The Hong Kong team handles the client relationship, solution design and on-site delivery, and is deliberately lean; development and technical support come from the engineering team at our affiliated company in Shenzhen. What that means for you: day-to-day communication, meetings and on-site work are handled by Hong Kong colleagues, while delivery capacity comes from behind them. At project kick-off we set out who fills each role and how many person-days will be on site.
A confidentiality agreement is signed before the project starts. Technically, development work uses de-identified or sampled data wherever possible, and work involving sensitive data is carried out inside your environment rather than taken away. For cross-border projects we confirm the compliance boundaries separately against the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and the relevant mainland regulations, and this is written into the proposal rather than left vague.
It depends on how complex your data sources are, not on headcount. If you run one system and Excel copes, we will say plainly that you do not need this. But if data sits across three or more systems and monthly reporting costs several days of manual work, it is worth assessing even at a few dozen staff. Rather than a large project, start with a four to eight week pilot and prove it at minimum cost.
Yes. The usual situation is that the original consultants have moved on or no longer serve the Hong Kong market. We start with a health check of the environment and applications, list the risks and the things worth improving, and then discuss how to work together. Operational support alone, leaving the existing architecture entirely untouched, is also an option.

Talk about the problem first, the quote second
Whether you have a requirement that has stalled, an old system nobody uses, or an AI idea you have not thought through yet, start with a conversation. The first consultation is free and you do not need a requirements document prepared beforehand.
